10 lessons learned from my previous venture

My previous startup was mixer.co. These are some lessons I've learnt.

My previous startup was mixer.co. These are some lessons I've learnt.

1) Focus on solving a pain-point for yourself, or at least for a demographic that you know extremely well

2) Choose a name that will make you memorable, unique and easily findable

3) Avoid taking money from non-technical investors. Actually, choose your investors very well

4) Don't give equity to advisors. Instead, have them invest

5) Don't go for cheaper employees. The best ones know their value

6) Don't hire PR. Never ever. Journalists want to hear from founders

7) Make sure you hit PMF before you consider growing (article coming out soon)

8) Figure out free growth funnels and exhaust them before you invest in paid growth

9) Even if you're consumer-facing, b2b is key most of the time

10) Don't reinvent the wheel. Use best practices whenever you can. And improve from there
